Sometimes an expedition opens up much wider horizons than we had imagined... We were looking for lost chasms under the roaring forties: they were there, and the violence of the elements did not fail. But something infinitely precious was given to us in addition: we discovered an unknown island, unexplored, that its situation at the end of the Earth had preserved from any attack [...].
Thus begins the story of this strange expedition "Ultima Patagonia" which revealed to the world the fantastic limestone landscapes of Madre de Dios Island, lost in the archipelago of Chilean Patagonia and subjected to one of the worst climates on the planet. The pleasure of pure exploration is found in this book, which combines two evocations of this journey, one in words with a text signed by Georges Marbach and the other in images, with forty black and white photos by Luc-Henri Fage.
A 72-page book with about a hundred black and white photos, 21 x 21 cm format, softbound with flap jacket, UV laminated. Published by A l'aventure!
